तद् अपि प्रंशुनालभ्यं
गोरसं शिक्य-संस्थितम्
श्रीदाम्ना सुबलेनापि
दण्डेनापि तताड च

tad api praṃśunālabhyaṃ
gorasaṃ śikya-saṃsthitam
śrīdāmnā subalenāpi
daṇḍenāpi tatāḍa ca

tat—that; api—and; praṃśunā—tall; alabhyam—not attainable; gorasam—yogurt; śikya-saṃsthitam—in the jug hanging on ropes; śrīdāmnā—by Śrīdāmā; subalena—by Subala; api—also; daṇḍena—with a stick; api—also; tatāḍa—struck; ca—and.

English translation of verse 1.17.30:

When even from that height the yogurt-jar hanging from ropes could not be reached, Śrīdāmā and Subala hit the jar with sticks.
