नाहं वदामि चानेन
स्तेयं कुत्रापि शिक्षितम्
शिक्षं करोषि न सुते
नवनीत-मुषि स्वतः
nāhaṃ vadāmi cānena
steyaṃ kutrāpi śikṣitam
śikṣaṃ karoṣi na sute
navanīta-muṣi svataḥ
na—not; aham—I; vadāmi—say; ca—also; anena—by Him; steyam—to be stolen; kutrāpi—somewhere; śikṣitam—taught; śikṣam—teaching; karoṣi—you do; na—not; sute—to your son; navanīta—butter; muṣi—stealing; svataḥ—by Himself.
English translation of verse 1.17.20:
I don't say you taught Him to steal. You didn't teach Him. Your son steals butter on His own.
