The Garga-samhita Verse 1.16.38, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 16 (Description of Shri Radhika’s Wedding) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

उवाच तत्रैव विधिं हरिः स्वयं
यथेप्सितं त्वं वद विप्र दक्षिणाम्
तदा हरिं प्राह विधिः प्रभो मे
देहि त्वद्-अङ्घ्र्योर् निज-भक्ति-दक्षिणम्

uvāca tatraiva vidhiṃ hariḥ svayaṃ
yathepsitaṃ tvaṃ vada vipra dakṣiṇām
tadā hariṃ prāha vidhiḥ prabho me
dehi tvad-aṅghryor nija-bhakti-dakṣiṇam

uvāca—said; tatra—there; eva—indeed; vidhim—to Brahmā; hariḥLord Hari; svayam—personally; yathā—as; ipsitam—desired; tvam—you; vadasay; vipraO brāhmaṇa; dakṣiṇām—reward; tadāthen; harim—to Lord Hari; prāha—said; vidhiḥ—Brahmā; prabhaḥ—O Lord; me—to me; dehiplease give; tvad-aṅghryoḥ—for Your feet; nijaown; bhaktidevotion; dakṣiṇām—reward.

English translation of verse 1.16.38:

When Lord Hari said to Brahmā, "Please ask whatever you wish as dakṣiṇā,"

Brahmā replied to Lord Hari, "O Lord, as dakṣiṇā please give me devotion for Your feet."
