श्री-ब्रह्मोवाच
अनादिम् आद्यं पुरुषोत्तमोत्तमं
श्री-कृष्णचन्द्रं निज-भक्त-वत्सलम्
स्वयं त्व् असङ्ख्याण्ड-पतिं परात् परं
राधा-पतिं त्वां शरणं व्रजाम्य् अहम्

anādim ādyaṃ puruṣottamottamaṃ
śrī-kṛṣṇacandraṃ nija-bhakta-vatsalam
svayaṃ tv asaṅkhyāṇḍa-patiṃ parāt paraṃ
rādhā-patiṃ tvāṃ śaraṇaṃ vrajāmy aham
śrī-brahmā uvāca—Lord Barham' said; anādim—without beginning; ādyam—the beginning; puruṣottamottamam—the original Supreme Personality of Godhead; śrī-kṛṣṇacandram—Śrī Kṛṣṇacandra; nija—own; bhakta—devotees; vatsalam—affectionate; svayam—personally; tu—indeed; asaṅkhya—countless; aṇḍa—of universes; patim—the master; parāt param—greater than the greatest; rādhā-patim—the master of Rādhā; tvām—of You; śaraṇaṃ vrajāmy aham—I take shelter.
English translation of verse 1.16.22:
Śrī Brahmā said: I take shelter of You, the original Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇacandra, without beginning, the beginning of everything, affectionate to Your devotees, the master of countless universes, greater than the greatest, and the husband of Rādhā.
