The Garga-samhita Verse 1.16.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. श्री-नारद उवाच
गाश् चारयन् नन्दनम् अङ्क-देशे
सम्लालयन् दूरतमं सकाशात्
कलिन्दजा-तीर-समीर-कम्पितं
नन्दो ऽपि भाण्डीरवनं जगाम

śrī-nārada uvāca
gāś cārayan nandanam aṅka-deśe
samlālayan dūratamaṃ sakāśāt
kalindajā-tīra-samīra-kampitaṃ
nando 'pi bhāṇḍīravanaṃ jagāma

śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; gāḥ—the cows; cārayan—herding; nandanam—son; aṅka-deśe—on the lap; samlālayan—caressing; dūratamam—for a long time; sakāśāt—in the presence; kalindajā—of the Yamunā; tīraon the shore; samīra—the breeze; kampitam—moving; nandaḥNanda; api—even; bhāṇḍīravanam—Bhāṇḍīravana; jagāma—went.

English translation of verse 1.16.1:

Herding the cows and holding His infant son in his arms, Nanda went to Bhāṇḍīravana, which trembled with the breezes coming from the Yamunā's shore.
