The Garga-samhita Verse 1.15.55, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 15 (Revelation of the Universal Form to Nanda’s Wife) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-गर्ग उवाच
भुवो भारावताराय
कंसादीनां वधाय च
ब्रह्मणा प्रार्थितः कृष्णो
बभूव जगती-तले

śrī-garga uvāca
bhuvo bhārāvatārāya
kaṃsādīnāṃ vadhāya ca
brahmaṇā prārthitaḥ kṛṣṇo
babhūva jagatī-tale

śrī-gargaḥ uvāca—Śrī Garga said; bhuvaḥof the earth; bhārathe burden; avatārāya—to remove; kaṃsa-ādīnām—of the demons headed by Kaṃsa; vadhāya—for killing; ca—also; brahmaṇā—by Brahmā; prārthitaḥ—requested; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa; babhūva—has taken birth; jagatī-tale—in the world.

English translation of verse 1.15.55:

Śrī Garga Muni said: To remove the earth's burden and to kill the demons headed by Kaṃsa, on the demigod Brahmā's request Lord Kṛṣṇa has taken birth on the surface of the earth.
