The Garga-samhita Verse 1.15.27, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 15 (Revelation of the Universal Form to Nanda’s Wife) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

सर्वावसेषाद्यं शेषं
बलाधिक्याद् बलं विदुः
स्व-पुत्रस्यापि नामानि
शृणु नन्द ह्य् अतन्द्रितः

sarvāvaseṣādyaṃ śeṣaṃ
balādhikyād balaṃ viduḥ
sva-putrasyāpi nāmāni
śṛṇu nanda hy atandritaḥ

sarvaeverything; avaseṣa—remaining; ādyam—beginning; śeṣam—Śeṣa; bala-ādhikyāt—because of great strength; balam—Bala; viduḥ—know; sva-putrasya—of your own son; api—also; nāmāni—the names; śṛṇu—please hear; nandaO Nanda; hi—indeed; atandritaḥ—without being fatigued.

English translation of verse 1.15.27:

Because when the universe is annihilated He alone remains (avaśeṣa), the sages know Him as Śeṣa. Because He is extremely strong (bala), they know Him as Bala.

O Nanda, please be attentive and hear the names of your son.
