मत्-पुत्र-नाम-करणं
कुरु द्विज महा-मुने
पुण्यैस् तीर्थैश् च दुष्प्राप्यं
भवद्-आगमनं प्रभो
mat-putra-nāma-karaṇaṃ
kuru dvija mahā-mune
puṇyais tīrthaiś ca duṣprāpyaṃ
bhavad-āgamanaṃ prabho
mat—my; putra—son's; nāma-karaṇam—name-giving ceremony; kuru—please perform; dvija—O brāhmaṇa; mahā-mune—O great sage; puṇyaiḥ—sacred; tīrthaiḥ—by pilgrimages; ca—also; duṣprāpyam—difficult to attain; bhavat—of you; āgamanam—the arrival; prabhaḥ—O lord.
English translation of verse 1.15.21:
O great brāhmaṇa sage, please perform my son's name-giving ceremony. O lord, even by many sacred pilgrimages one cannot attain what is attained by your visit.
