पदं पिबन्तम् अति-चञ्चलम् अद्भुताङ्गं
वक्रैर् विनील-नव-कोमल-केश-बन्धैः
श्रीमन्-नृकेशरि-नख-स्फुरद्-अर्ध-चन्द्रं
तं लालयन्त्य् अति-घृणा मुदम् आप गोपी
padaṃ pibantam ati-cañcalam adbhutāṅgaṃ
vakrair vinīla-nava-komala-keśa-bandhaiḥ
śrīman-nṛkeśari-nakha-sphurad-ardha-candraṃ
taṃ lālayanty ati-ghṛṇā mudam āpa gopī
padam—foot; pibantam—drinking; ati-ca 24calam—very restless; adbhuta—wonderful; aṅgam—limbs; vakraiḥ—with curly; vinīla—black; nava—new; komala—soft; keśa-bandhaiḥ—hair; śrīmat—handsome; nṛkeśari—lion's; nakha—nails; sphurat—glistening; ardha—half; candram—moon; tam—Him; lālayantī—fondling; ati-ghṛṇā—with kindness; mudam—happiness; āpa—attained; gopī—the gopī.
English translation of verse 1.15.2:
Filled with tender motherly love, the gopī attained great happiness as she caressed the restless child now licking His foot, decorated with a glittering half-moon necklace of lion's nails, His limbs very wonderful, and handsome with curly new black hairs.
