रुरुदुश् च तदा गोप्यः
प्रेम-स्नेह-समाकुलाः
अश्रु-मुख्यो नन्द-सूनुं
पश्यन्त्यस् ता इतस् ततः
ruruduś ca tadā gopyaḥ
prema-sneha-samākulāḥ
aśru-mukhyo nanda-sūnuṃ
paśyantyas tā itas tataḥ
ruruduḥ—wept; ca—also; tadā—then; gopyaḥ—the gopīs; prema-sneha-samākulāḥ—filled with love; aśru—tears; mukhyaḥ—faces; nanda-sūnum—the son of Nanda; paśyantyaḥ—looking; tāḥ—they; itas tataḥ—here and there.
English translation of verse 1.14.31:
Filled with love, and their faces covered with tears, the gopīs also wept as here and there they searched for Nanda's son.
