The Garga-samhita Verse 1.14.30, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 14 (The Liberation of Shakatasura and Trinavarta) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अदृष्टे च यदा पुत्रे
पतिता भुवि मूर्छिता
उच्चै रुरोद करुणं
मृत-वत्सा यथा हि गौः

adṛṣṭe ca yadā putre
patitā bhuvi mūrchitā
uccai ruroda karuṇaṃ
mṛta-vatsā yathā hi gauḥ

adṛṣṭe—not seen; ca—also; yadā—when; putre—her son; patitāfallen; bhuvi—on the ground; mūrchitā—fainted; uccaiḥloudly; ruroda—cried; karuṇaṃpitifully; mṛtadied; vatsāwhose calf; yathā—as; hi—indeed; gauḥ—a cow.

English translation of verse 1.14.30:

When she did not see her son, she fell to the ground unconscious. She loudly and pitifully wept, like a cow whose calf has died.
