कंस-प्रणोदितो दैत्यस्
तृणावर्तो महा-बालः
जहार बालं क्रीडन्तं
वात-वर्तेन सुन्दरम्
kaṃsa-praṇodito daityas
tṛṇāvarto mahā-bālaḥ
jahāra bālaṃ krīḍantaṃ
vāta-vartena sundaram
kaṃsa-praṇoditaḥ—sent by Kaṃsa; daityaḥ—demon; tṛṇāvartaḥ—Tṛṇāvarto; mahā-bālaḥ—very powerful; jahāra—took; bālam—the infant boy; krīḍantam—playing; vāta-vartena—with a whirlwind; sundaram—handsome.
English translation of verse 1.14.27:
The powerful demon Tṛṇāvarta, who had been sent by Kaṃsa, with a circling whirlwind grabbed the handsome, playing infant boy.
