प्रेङ्खे निधाय निजम् आत्मजम् आशु गोपी
सम्पूज्य मङ्गल-दिने प्रति गोपिकास् ताः
नैवाशृणोत् सु-रुदितस्य सुतस्य शब्दं
गोपेषु मङ्गल-गृहेषु गतागतेषु
preṅkhe nidhāya nijam ātmajam āśu gopī
sampūjya maṅgala-dine prati gopikās tāḥ
naivāśṛṇot su-ruditasya sutasya śabdaṃ
gopeṣu maṅgala-gṛheṣu gatāgateṣu
preṅkhe—on the cradle; nidhāya—placing; nijam—own; ātmajam—son; āśu—at once; gopī—the gopī; sampūjya—respectfully greeting; maṅgala-dine—on that auspicious day; prati—to; gopikāḥ—gopīs; tāḥ—the; na—not; eva—indeed; aśṛṇot—heard; su-ruditasya—crying; sutasya—son; śabdam—the sound; gopeṣu—among the gopas; maṅgala—auspicious; gṛheṣu—in the homes; gata—going; āgateṣu—and coming.
English translation of verse 1.14.10:
On that auspicious day she placed her son in His cradle, and quickly greeted the gopīs. As the cowherd people came and went in the auspicious rooms, the gopī Yaśodā did not hear the sound of her crying son.
