ददौ शिशोर् महा-घोरा
कालाकूतावृतं स्तनम्
प्राणैः सार्धं पपौ दुग्धं
कटुं रोषावृतो हरिः
dadau śiśor mahā-ghorā
kālākūtāvṛtaṃ stanam
prāṇaiḥ sārdhaṃ papau dugdhaṃ
kaṭuṃ roṣāvṛto hariḥ
dadau—placed; śiśoḥ—of the infant; mahā—very; ghorā—terrible; kālākūta—with poison; āvṛtam—covered; stanam—breast; prāṇaiḥ—life breath; sārdham—with; papau—drank; dugdham—milk; kaṭum—bitter; roṣa—with anger; āvṛtaḥ—filled; hariḥ—Lord Hari.
English translation of verse 1.13.6:
When the very horrible demoness gave her poison-covered breast to Him, infant Lord Hari became angry and drank her life-breath along with the bitter milk.
