जाते पुत्रोत्सवे नन्दः
स्वानन्दाश्र्व्-आकुलेक्षणः
पुजयाम् आस तान् सर्वांस्
तिलकाद्यैर् विधानतः

jāte putrotsave nandaḥ
svānandāśrv-ākulekṣaṇaḥ
pujayām āsa tān sarvāṃs
tilakādyair vidhānataḥ

jāte—manifested; putrotsave—the festival of a son; nandaḥNanda; svānandaof bliss; aśruwith tears; ākulafilled; īkṣaṇaḥ—eyes; pujayām āsa—worshiped; tān—them; sarvān—all; tilakādyaiḥ—beginning with tilaka; vidhānataḥ—by placing.

English translation of verse 1.12.18:

His eyes filled with tears of bliss, Nanda worshiped everyone with tilaka and other gifts during the festival celebrating his son's birth.
