पुत्रोत्सवं व्रजेशस्य
कथयन्तः परस्परम्
प्रेम-विह्वल-भावैः स्वैर्
आनन्दाश्रु-समाकुलाः

putrotsavaṃ vrajeśasya
kathayantaḥ parasparam
prema-vihvala-bhāvaiḥ svair
ānandāśru-samākulāḥ

putra-utsavam—the festival of a son; vrajeśasya—of the king of Vraja; kathayantaḥ—talking; parasparam—among themselves; prema-vihvala-bhāvaiḥ—overcome with love; svaiḥ—own; ānandaof bliss; aśruwith tears; samākulāḥ—filled.

English translation of verse 1.12.17:

Overcome with love and their eyes filled with tears of bliss, they talked about the birth-festival of the king of Vraja's son.
