दैत्या ऊचुः
सज्जस्य धनुषो युद्धे
भवता द्वन्द्व-योधिना
ताङ्कारेनोद्गता देवा
मन्यसे तैः कथं भयम्
daityā ūcuḥ
sajjasya dhanuṣo yuddhe
bhavatā dvandva-yodhinā
tāṅkārenodgatā devā
manyase taiḥ kathaṃ bhayam
daityāḥ—the demons; ūcuḥ—said; sajjasya—preparing; dhanuṣaḥ—bows; yuddhe—in the battle; bhavatā—by you; dvandva-yodhinā—in a duel; tāṅkārena—with the sound of the bow udgatāḥ—come; devāḥ—the demigods; manyase—you think; taiḥ—by them; katham—how?; bhayam—fear.
English translation of verse 1.11.69:
The demons said: When you ready your bow for a fight, the twang of its string makes the demigods flee. Why do you fear them?
