The Garga-samhita Verse 1.11.69, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 11 (Description of Shri Krishnacandra’s Birth) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

दैत्या ऊचुः
सज्जस्य धनुषो युद्धे
भवता द्वन्द्व-योधिना
ताङ्कारेनोद्गता देवा
मन्यसे तैः कथं भयम्

daityā ūcuḥ
sajjasya dhanuṣo yuddhe
bhavatā dvandva-yodhinā
tāṅkārenodgatā devā
manyase taiḥ kathaṃ bhayam

daityāḥthe demons; ūcuḥ—said; sajjasya—preparing; dhanuṣaḥbows; yuddhe—in the battle; bhavatā—by you; dvandva-yodhinā—in a duel; tāṅkārena—with the sound of the bow udgatāḥ—come; devāḥ—the demigods; manyase—you think; taiḥ—by them; katham—how?; bhayam—fear.

English translation of verse 1.11.69:

The demons said: When you ready your bow for a fight, the twang of its string makes the demigods flee. Why do you fear them?
