अथ कंसो विस्मितो ऽभूच्
छ्रुत्वा माता-वचः परम्
देवकीं वसुदेवं च
मोचयाम् आस बन्धनात्

atha kaṃso vismito 'bhūc
chrutvā mātā-vacaḥ param
devakīṃ vasudevaṃ ca
mocayām āsa bandhanāt

athathen; kaṃsaḥKaṃsa; vismitaḥastonished; abhūt—became; śrutvāhearing; mātāof his mother; vacaḥ—the words; param—then; devakīm—Devakī; vasudevam—Vasudeva; ca—and; mocayām āsa—released; bandhanāt—from bondage.

English translation of verse 1.11.61:

At this Kaṃsa became astonished. Listening to his mother's words, he released Vasudeva and Devakī from their bonds.
