The Garga-samhita Verse 1.11.53, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 11 (Description of Shri Krishnacandra’s Birth) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-देवक्य् उवाच
सुताम् एकं देहि मे त्वं
पुत्रेषु प्रमृतेषु च
स्त्रियं हन्तुं न योग्यो ऽसि
भ्रातस् त्वं दीन-वत्सलः

śrī-devaky uvāca
sutām ekaṃ dehi me tvaṃ
putreṣu pramṛteṣu ca
striyaṃ hantuṃ na yogyo 'si
bhrātas tvaṃ dīna-vatsalaḥ

śrī-devakī uvāca—Śrī Devakī said; sutām—daughter; ekām—one; dehigive; me—to me; tvam—you; putreṣu—sons; pramṛteṣu—died; ca—and; striyam—a woman; hantum—to kill; na—not; yogyaḥ—is right; asi—you are; bhrātaḥ—O brother; tvam—you; dīnato they who suffer; vatsalaḥ—kind.

English translation of verse 1.11.53:

Śrī Devakī said: Now that my sons are dead, please give me this one daughter.

O brother, it is not right for you to kill a girl. You are kind to they who are miserable.
