वमन्तो रुधिरं वीरा
मूर्छिता निधनं गताह्
सभा-मण्डपम् आरक्तं
दृश्यते क्षतज-स्रवात्
vamanto rudhiraṃ vīrā
mūrchitā nidhanaṃ gatāh
sabhā-maṇḍapam āraktaṃ
dṛśyate kṣataja-sravāt
vamantah—vomiting; rudhiram—blood; vīrāh—the soldiers; mūrchitāh—fell unconscious; nidhanam—to death; gatāh—went; sabhā-maṇḍapam—the assembly hall; āraktam—red; dṛśyate—is seen; kṣataja—blood from the wounds; sravāt—from the streams.
English translation of verse 1.10.20:
Many soldiers vomited blood, fell unconscious, and died. The assembly hall was seen to be red with streams of blood from their wounds.
