The Garga-samhita Verse 1.10.16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 10 (Description of the Birth of Lord Balarama) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

उग्रसेनानुगान् दृष्ट्वा
कंस-वीराह् समुत्थिताह्
तैह् सार्धम् अभवद् युद्धं
सभा-मण्डप-मध्यतह्

ugrasenānugān dṛṣṭvā
kaṃsa-vīrāh samutthitāh
taih sārdham abhavad yuddhaṃ
sabhā-maṇḍapa-madhyatah

ugrasenānugān—the followers of Ugrasena; dṛṣṭvāseeing; kaṃsa-vīrāh— Kaṃsa's soldiers; samutthitāh—risen; taih—them; sārdham—with; abhavat—was; yuddham—battle; sabhā-maṇḍapa-madhyatah—in the midst of the assembly.

English translation of verse 1.10.16:

Seeing Ugrasena's soldiers, Kaṃsa's soldiers rose against them and fought a great battle with them in the midst of the assembly.
