कंसस्य दुराभिप्रायं
दृष्ट्वोत्तस्थुर् महा-भटाह्
उग्रसेनानुगा रक्षं
चक्रुस् ते खड्ग-पाणयह्
kaṃsasya durābhiprāyaṃ
dṛṣṭvottasthur mahā-bhaṭāh
ugrasenānugā rakṣaṃ
cakrus te khaḍga-pāṇayah
kaṃsasya—of Kaṃsa; durābhiprāyam—the wicked plan; dṛṣṭvā—seeing; uttasthuh—rose; maha-bhaṭāh—great soldiers; ugrasenānugāh—followers of Ugrasena; rakṣam—protection; cakruh—did; te—they; khaḍga—swords; pāṇayah—in hand.
English translation of verse 1.10.15:
Seeing Kaṃsa's demonic intentions, with swords in their hands, Ugrasena's soldiers protected (Vasudeva and Devakī).
