कीर्तिमन्तं सुतं ह्य् आदौ
जातम् आनकदुन्दुभिह्
नीत्वा कंस-सभाम् एत्य
ददौ तस्मै परार्थ-वित्
kīrtimantaṃ sutaṃ hy ādau
jātam ānakadundubhih
nītvā kaṃsa-sabhām etya
dadau tasmai parārtha-vit
kīrtimantam—Kīrtiman; sutam—son; hi—certainly; ādau—in the beginning; jātam—born; ānakadundubhih—Vasudeva; nītvā—bringing; kaṃsa—of Kaṃsa; sabhām—to the assembly; etya—coming; dadau—gave; tasmai—to him; para-artha-vit—knowing the supreme benefit.
English translation of verse 1.10.3:
Vasudeva, who knew the ultimate goal of life, went to Kaṃsa's assembly and offered his first son Kirrtimān.
