The Garga-samhita Verse 1.10.3, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 10 (Description of the Birth of Lord Balarama) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

कीर्तिमन्तं सुतं ह्य् आदौ
जातम् आनकदुन्दुभिह्
नीत्वा कंस-सभाम् एत्य
ददौ तस्मै परार्थ-वित्

kīrtimantaṃ sutaṃ hy ādau
jātam ānakadundubhih
nītvā kaṃsa-sabhām etya
dadau tasmai parārtha-vit

kīrtimantam—Kīrtiman; sutam—son; hi—certainly; ādau—in the beginning; jātam—born; ānakadundubhih—Vasudeva; nītvā—bringing; kaṃsaof Kaṃsa; sabhām—to the assembly; etyacoming; dadau—gave; tasmai—to him; para-artha-vit—knowing the supreme benefit.

English translation of verse 1.10.3:

Vasudeva, who knew the ultimate goal of life, went to Kaṃsa's assembly and offered his first son Kirrtimān.
