दासी-सहस्रं त्व् अयुतं गजनानां
सत्-पारिबर्हं नियुतं हयानाम्
लक्षं रथानां च गवां द्वि-लक्षं
प्रदाद् दुहित्रे नृप-देवको वै
dāsī-sahasraṃ tv ayutaṃ gajanānāṃ
sat-pāribarhaṃ niyutaṃ hayānām
lakṣaṃ rathānāṃ ca gavāṃ dvi-lakṣaṃ
pradād duhitre nṛpa-devako vai
dāsī—of maidservants; sahasram—a thousand; tu—indeed; ayutam—ten thousand; gajanānām—of elephants; sat-pāribarham—a wedding pressent; niyutam—a million; hayānām—of horses; lakṣam—a hundred thousand; rathānām—of chariots; ca—and; gavām—of cows; dvi-lakṣam—two hundred thousand pradāt —gave; duhitre—to his daughter; nṛpa-devaḥ—King Devaka; vai—indeed.
English translation of verse 1.9.11:
King Devaka gave to his daughter a wedding present of a thousand maidservants, ten thousand elephants, a million horses, a hundred thousand chariots, and two hundred thousand cows.
