The Garga-samhita Verse 1.8.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 8 (Description of Shri Radhika’s Birth) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

श्री-गर्ग उवाच
श्रुत्वा तदा शौनक भक्ति-युक्तः
श्री-मैथिलो ज्ञान-भृतं वरिष्ठः
नत्वा पुनः प्राह मुनिं महन्तं
देवर्षि-वार्यं हरि-भक्ति-निष्ठः

śrī-garga uvāca
śrutvā tadā śaunaka bhakti-yuktaḥ
śrī-maithilo jñāna-bhṛtaṃ variṣṭhaḥ
natvā punaḥ prāha muniṃ mahantaṃ
devarṣi-vāryaṃ hari-bhakti-niṣṭhaḥ

śrī-gargaḥ uvāca—Śrī Garga Muni said; śrutvāheariṅg; tadāthen; śaunakaO Śaunaka; bhakti-yuktaḥfull of devotion; śrī-maithilo—the King of Mithilā; jñāna-bhṛtāṃ—of the wise; variṣṭhaḥthe best; natvā—bowing doen; punaḥ—again; prāha—said; muniṃto the sage; mahantaṃ—great; devarṣi-vāryaṃ—the best of the divine sages; harito Lord Hari; bhakti—devotional service; niṣṭhaḥ—faith.

English translation of verse 1.8.1:

Śrī Garga Muni said: O Śaunaka, when Bahulāśva, the king of Mithilā, who was filled with faith and devotion to Lord Hari and who was the best of the wise, heard this, he again bowed down and spoke to the great sage Nārada, the best of the devarṣis.
