कंसो गृहीत्वा नागेन्द्रं
सन्निपत्य रणाङ्गने
निष्पीड्य शुण्डां तस्यापि
दन्तांस् चूर्णी-चकार ह
kaṃso gṛhītvā nāgendraṃ
sannipatya raṇāṅgane
niṣpīḍya śuṇḍāṃ tasyāpi
dantāṃs cūrṇī-cakāra ha
kaṃso—Kaṃsa; gṛhītvā—grabbing; nāgendraṃ—the king of elephants;
English translation of verse 1.7.50:
sannipatya—threw; raṇāṅgane—onj the battleground; niṣpīḍya—strangled;
śuṇḍāṃ—to the trunk; tasya—of him; api—also; dantān—tusks; cūrṇī-cakāra—
broke into pieces; ha—certainly.
Kaṃsa grabbed the elephant-king Airāvata, threw him onto the battleground, strangled its trunk, and broke its tusks into pieces.
