त्यक्त्वा वज्रं तदा वज्री
खड्गं जग्राह रोषतः
कंसं मूर्ध्नि तटादाशु
नादं कृत्वाथ भैरवम्
tyaktvā vajraṃ tadā vajrī
khaḍgaṃ jagrāha roṣataḥ
kaṃsaṃ mūrdhni taṭādāśu
nādaṃ kṛtvātha bhairavam
tyaktvā—abandoning; vajraṃ—the thunderbolt; tadā—then; vajrī—Indra;
English translation of verse 1.7.33:
khaḍgaṃ—sword; jagrāha—took; roṣataḥ—angrily; kaṃsaṃ—Kaṃsa; mūrdhni—
on the head; taṭāda—struck; āśu—at once; nādaṃ—a sound; kṛtvā—making;
atha—then; bhairavam—terrible.
Abandoning the thunderbolt, Indra took up a sword and angrily struck Kaṃsa on the head, making a terrible sound.
