कंसः कालं सङ्गृहीत्वा
पातयाम् आस भू-तले
पुनर् गृहीत्वा निष्पत्य
मृत-तुल्यं चकार ह
kaṃsaḥ kālaṃ saṅgṛhītvā
pātayām āsa bhū-tale
punar gṛhītvā niṣpatya
mṛta-tulyaṃ cakāra ha
kaṃsaḥ—Kaṃsa; kālaṃ—Kālayavana; saṅgṛhītvā—grabbing; pātayām āsa—
English translation of verse 1.7.20:
threw; bhū-tale—on the ground; punar—again; gṛhītvā—grabbing; niṣpatya—fell;
mṛta—death; tulyaṃ—like; cakāra—made; ha—indeed.
Kaṃsa grabbed Kālayavana, threw him to the gound, jumped on him, and attacked him so violently he almost died.
