तृणावर्तो भौम-वाक्यात्
कंसं नीत्वा नभो गतः
तत्रैव युयुधे दैत्य
ऊर्ध्वं वै लक्ष-योजनम्
tṛṇāvarto bhauma-vākyāt
kaṃsaṃ nītvā nabho gataḥ
tatraiva yuyudhe daitya
ūrdhvaṃ vai lakṣa-yojanam
tṛṇāvartaḥ—Tṛṇāvarta; bhauma-vākyāt—from the words of Narakāsura; kaṃsam—Kaṃsa; nītvā—brought; nabhaḥ—in the sky; gataḥ—went; tatra—there; eva—indeed; yuyudhe—fought; daityaḥ—the demon; ūrdhvam—above; vai—indeed; lakṣa-yojanam—eight hundred thousand miles.
English translation of verse 1.6.56:
On Narakāsura's order a demon named Tṛṇāvarta pulled Kaṃsa into the sky and fought with him eight hundred thousand miles in outer space.
