The Garga-samhita Verse 1.6.31, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 6 (Description of Kamsa’s Strength) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

मुष्टिभिर् घातयित्वा तं
वशी-कृत्वारुरोह तम्
इत्थं कंसो महा-वीर्यो
महेन्द्राख्यं गिरिं ययौ

muṣṭibhir ghātayitvā taṃ
vaśī-kṛtvāruroha tam
itthaṃ kaṃso mahā-vīryo
mahendrākhyaṃ giriṃ yayau

muṣṭibhiḥ—with punches; ghātayitvā—hitting; tam—him; vaśī-kṛtvā—subduing; āruroha—climbed; tam—on him; ittham—thus; kaṃsaḥKaṃsa; mahā-vīryaḥvery powerful; mahendrākhyam—named Mahendra; girim—to the mountain; yayau—went.

English translation of verse 1.6.31:

Punching it again and again, Kaṃsa subdued the horse. Mounting it, very powerful Kaṃsa rode to Mount Mahendra.
