The Garga-samhita Verse 1.5.25, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 5 (The Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

गदः प्रचीनबर्हिश् च
मरुतो ह्य् उग्रसेन उत्
तस्य रक्षं करिष्यामि
राज्यं दत्वा विधानतः

gadaḥ pracīnabarhiś ca
maruto hy ugrasena ut
tasya rakṣaṃ kariṣyāmi
rājyaṃ datvā vidhānataḥ

gadaḥGada; pracīnabarhiḥ—Pracīnabarhi; ca—and; marutaḥMaruta; hi—

English translation of verse 1.5.25:

indeed; ugrasena—Ugrasena; ut—indeed; tasya—of him; rakṣam—protection;

kariṣyāmi—I will do; rājyam—the kingdom; datvā—having given; vidhānataḥ—

properly.

Pracīnabarhi will descend as Gada and Maruta as Ugrasena. I will give the kingdom to Ugrasena and I will protect him.
