The Garga-samhita Verse 1.5.6, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. अन्तर्हिते भगवति
देवे धन्वन्तरौ भुवि
औषध्यो दुःखम् आपन्ना
निष्फला भारते ऽभवन्

auṣadhyo duḥkham āpannā
niṣphalā bhārate 'bhavan

antarhite—disappeared; bhagavati deve dhanvantarau—when Lord Dhanvantari; bhuvi—in the earth; auṣadhyaḥ—medicines; duḥkham—

English translation of verse 1.5.6:

unhappiness; āpannā—attained; niṣphalā—fruitless; bhārate—in Bhārata-varṣa;

abhavan—became.

When Lord Dhanvantari disappeared from the earth, all the medicines in Bhārata-varṣa became unhappy. They all became useless and ineffective.
