पितुर् वाक्याद् यदा रामो
दण्डकाख्यं वनं गतः
चचार सीतया सार्धं
लक्ष्मणेन धनुष्मता

pitur vākyād yadā rāmo
daṇḍakākhyaṃ vanaṃ gataḥ
cacāra sītayā sārdhaṃ
lakṣmaṇena dhanuṣmatā

pituḥ—of His father; vākyāt—by the statement; yadā—when; rāmaḥRāma; daṇḍakaDaṇḍaka; ākhyam—named; vanam—to the forest; gataḥ—gone; cacāra—went; sītayā—Sītā; sārdham—with; lakṣmaṇena—and Lakṣmaṇa; dhanuṣmatā—the expert bowman.

English translation of verse 1.4.46:

Then, because of His father's words, He went with Sītā and the expert bowman Lakṣmaṇa to the Daṇḍaka forest.
