श्री-श्रुतय ऊचुः
कन्दर्प-कोटि-लावण्ये
त्वयि दृट्टे मनांसि नः
कामिनी-भावम् आसद्य
स्मर-क्षुब्धान्य् असंशयम्
śrī-śrutaya ūcuḥ
kandarpa-koṭi-lāvaṇye
tvayi dṛṭṭe manāṃsi naḥ
kāminī-bhāvam āsadya
smara-kṣubdhāny asaṃśayam
śrī-śrutayaḥ ūcuḥ—the personified Vedas said; kandarpa—of Kāmadevas; koṭi—millions; lāvaṇye—handsomeness; tvayi—when You; dṛṭṭe—are seen; manāṃsi—hearts; naḥ—our; kāminī—of beautiful and amorous girls; bhāvam—the nature; āsadya—attaining; smara—by amorous desires; kṣubdhāni—agitated; asaṃśayam—without doubt.
English translation of verse 1.4.28:
When we see You in this way, more handsome than millions of Kāmadevas, our hearts become troubled with amorous desires and we yearn to become beautiful girls. Of this there is no doubt.
