नन्दो द्रोणो वसुः साक्षाद्
यशोदा सा धरा स्मृता
वृषभानुः सुचन्द्रश् च
तस्य भर्या कलावती
nando droṇo vasuḥ sākṣād
yaśodā sā dharā smṛtā
vṛṣabhānuḥ sucandraś ca
tasya bharyā kalāvatī
nando—Nanda; droṇo—Droṇa; vasuḥ—Vasu; sākṣād—directly; yaśodā—Yaśodā; sā—she; dharā—Dharā; smṛtā—remembered; vṛṣabhānuḥ—Vṛṣabhānu; sucandras—Sucandra; ca—and; tasya—of him; bharyā—the wife; kalāvatī—Kalāvatī.
English translation of verse 1.3.40:
The Vasu Droṇa will become Nanda, and Dharā will be remembered as Yaśodā.
Sucandra will take birth as Vṛṣabhānu, and his wife Kalāvatī will also take birth.
