The Garga-samhita Verse 1.3.40, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 3 (Description of the Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

नन्दो द्रोणो वसुः साक्षाद्
यशोदा सा धरा स्मृता
वृषभानुः सुचन्द्रश् च
तस्य भर्या कलावती

nando droṇo vasuḥ sākṣād
yaśodā sā dharā smṛtā
vṛṣabhānuḥ sucandraś ca
tasya bharyā kalāvatī

nando—Nanda; droṇo—Droṇa; vasuḥVasu; sākṣād—directly; yaśodāYaśodā; sā—she; dharāDharā; smṛtā—remembered; vṛṣabhānuḥVṛṣabhānu; sucandrasSucandra; ca—and; tasya—of him; bharyā—the wife; kalāvatīKalāvatī.

English translation of verse 1.3.40:

The Vasu Droṇa will become Nanda, and Dharā will be remembered as Yaśodā.

Sucandra will take birth as Vṛṣabhānu, and his wife Kalāvatī will also take birth.
