इन्द्रायण-फलानीव
लुठन्त्य् अन्यानि वै जले
विलोक्य विस्मिताः सर्वे
बभुवुस् चकिता इव

indrāyaṇa-phalānīva
luṭhanty anyāni vai jale
vilokya vismitāḥ sarve
babhuvus cakitā iva

indrāyaṇa-phalāni—kuṭaja fruits; iva—like; luṭhanti—moving to and fro; anyāni—others; vai—certainly; jale—in the water; vilokyaseeing; vismitāḥ—astonished; sarve—all; babhuvuḥ—became; cakitāḥ—frightened; iva—as if.

English translation of verse 1.2.12:

When the saw the other universes were like many kuṭaja fruits bobbing in the water (of the Kāraṇa Ocean), they all became frightened and surprised.
