जल-यानेन मार्गेण
बहिस् ते निर्ययुः सुराः
कलिङ्ग-बिम्ब-वच् चेदं
ब्रह्माण्डं ददृशुस् त्व् अधः
jala-yānena mārgeṇa
bahis te niryayuḥ surāḥ
kaliṅga-bimba-vac cedaṃ
brahmāṇḍaṃ dadṛśus tv adhaḥ
jala-yānena—on a boat; mārgeṇa—on the path; bahiḥ—outside; te—they; niryayuḥ—went; surāḥ—the demigods; kaliṅga-bimba-vat—like a tiny kuṭaja seed; ca—also; idam—this; brahmāṇḍam—universe; dadṛśuḥ—saw; tu—indeed; adhaḥ—below.
English translation of verse 1.2.11:
Going by boat on this path, the demigods left the universe. They saw the universe was like a round kuṭaja fruit far below.
