चतुर्-व्यूहो भवेद् यत्र
दृश्यन्ते च रसा नव
अतः परं च वीर्याणि
स तु पूर्णः प्रकथ्यते
catur-vyūho bhaved yatra
dṛśyante ca rasā nava
ataḥ paraṃ ca vīryāṇi
sa tu pūrṇaḥ prakathyate
catur-vyūhaḥ—the catur-vyūha incarnations; bhavet—are; yatra—where; dṛśyante—are seen; ca—also; rasāḥ—mellows; nava—nine; ataḥ—then; param—after; ca—also; vīryāṇi—prowess; saḥ—He; tu—indeed; pūrṇaḥ—pūrṇa; prakathyate—is said.
English translation of verse 1.1.23:
The pūrṇa incarnations are said to include the catur-vyūha incarnations. They are said to be the places where heroic powers and the nine rasas are seen.
