The Garga-samhita Verse 1.1.17, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. अंशांशस् तु मरीच्य्-आदिर्
अंशा ब्रह्मादयस् तथा
कलाः कपिल-कूर्माद्या
आवेशा भार्गवादयः

aṃśāṃśas tu marīcy-ādir
aṃśā brahmādayas tathā
kalāḥ kapila-kūrmādyā
āveśā bhārgavādayaḥ

aṃśāṃśaḥ—aṃśāṃśa; tu—indeed; marīciwith Marīci; ādiḥ—beginning; aṃśā—aṃśā; brahmawith Brahmā; ādayaḥ—beginning; tathā—so; kalāḥkalā; kapilawith Kapila; kūrmaand Kūrma; ādyāḥ—beginning; āveśāḥ—aveśa; bhārgavawith Paraśurāma; ādayaḥ—beginning.

English translation of verse 1.1.17:

The aṃśāṃśa incarnations begin with Marīci, the aṃśā incarnations begin with Brahmā, the kalā incarnations begin with Kapila and Kūrmā, and the āveśa incarnations begin with Paraśurāma.
