Next, we pass on to another period of vigorous temple building activities under the personal care and attention of Sembiyan Mahadevi or under her inspiration. We have identified so far twenty-one temples either built or renovated by her. Of these, the most outstanding is the temple of Umamahesvara of Konerirajapuram called in the past Tirunallam built by her as a memorial to her husband Gandaraditya during the reign of her son Uttama Chola.
