Cidgaganacandrika 165 [Khandacakra Vivarana Samhritikrama], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. The Cidgagana-candrika is an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. Written by Kalidasa (Shrivatsa) in 312 Sanskrit verses, it deals with the knowledge regarding both the Macrocosmic and Microcosmic phenomena

निश्चितग्रहनिदेशवर्जितो युक्त्ययुक्त्यतिगतोऽक्रमः परः ।
सत्पथोदितखधामगः शिवे खण्डचक्रविसरस्तवोत्कटः ॥ १६५ ॥

niścitagrahanideśavarjito yuktyayuktyatigato'kramaḥ paraḥ |
satpathoditakhadhāmagaḥ śive khaṇḍacakravisarastavotkaṭaḥ || 165 ||

[Khaṇḍacakra vivaranam-saṃhṛtikramena]

 Khaṇḍacakra of Saṃhṛtikrama is enormous as it involves the tracing back of the path of manifestation. The knowledge of objects as “this is like this” which is attained through the Khaṇḍacakra is excluded in the Akrama as there is abscence of the specification. The means of knowledge Anumāna or Śabda (Varṇamātṛka)[1] are transcended as there is no form at the Laya stage. In the state of samādhi it is realised as Self-experience. Hence Akrama is the highest abode viz., Cidgagana.
