Cidgaganacandrika 148 [Samvitrupa Shiva and Vimarsha project Ishvara—Shiva’s form], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. अस्वरोल्लसनबीजमग्रिमो क्षीणतोऽवपुरपाकृतक्रमः ।
नाद एष तव विश्वदैशिकः कोऽपि संविदि विमर्श ईश्वरः ॥ १४८ ॥

asvarollasanabījamagrimo kṣīṇato'vapurapākṛtakramaḥ |
nāda eṣa tava viśvadaiśikaḥ ko'pi saṃvidi vimarśa īśvaraḥ || 148 ||

Nāda is Śakti’s form. From Nāda rises a-kāra. Nāda is prime cause for the proposed manifestation of Varṇas and Bhāvas. It is instrumental in creation and hence is called Bīja. This Nāda is formless because at this stage Varṇas are non-existent and there is no Varṇakrama. This is ĪśvaraŚiva’s form[1] who exhibits his capacity for creation.
