[Sixty-four Varṇa Śakti in Sṛṣṭi and Saṃhāra]

Maṅgalā Śakti in her Sūkṣma form governs the forty-nine syllables (16 vowels and 33 consonants). She expands as sixty-four[1] rays while assuming the Sthūla form in Sṛṣṭi. She again deposits them in the womb of Khecarī Śakti at the time of involution.
