Cidgaganacandrika 125 [Kadi-Hadi mata mantrarupa Shakti], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. The Cidgagana-candrika is an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. Written by Kalidasa (Shrivatsa) in 312 Sanskrit verses, it deals with the knowledge regarding both the Macrocosmic and Microcosmic phenomena

ज्ञानमम्ब तव भेदितैः स्वरैस्तैस्तु योग इह षण्डवर्जितैः ।
व्यञ्जनैरुदयते महान्तिकैर्मन्त्रशक्तियुगलं कहादिभिः ॥ १२५ ॥

jñānamamba tava bheditaiḥ svaraistaistu yoga iha ṣaṇḍavarjitaiḥ |
vyañjanairudayate mahāntikairmantraśaktiyugalaṃ kahādibhiḥ || 125 ||

The twelve vowels excluding the four Ṣaṇḍasvaras, “ṛ”, “ṝ”, “ḷ”, “ḹ” and the vyañjanas ending with either Anusvara or Visarga become the various Mantra forms of Devatas. Śakti is attained by the Kādi (starting with ka) and by the Hādi (starting with ha) Ṣoḍaśākṣarī[1] mantras.
