Cidgaganacandrika 18 [Amba the Supreme wealth behind Ishvara], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. The Cidgagana-candrika is an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. Written by Kalidasa (Shrivatsa) in 312 Sanskrit verses, it deals with the knowledge regarding both the Macrocosmic and Microcosmic phenomena

ईश्वरस्य तव भर्त्तुरक्षयैश्वर्यरूपमसि तत्त्वमम्बिके ।
ज्ञानमस्य शुचि कर्म वा फलं ते विरागमयपूर्णताफले ॥ १८ ॥

īśvarasya tava bhartturakṣayaiśvaryarūpamasi tattvamambike |
jñānamasya śuci karma vā phalaṃ te virāgamayapūrṇatāphale || 18 ||

[Ambā the Supreme wealth behind Īśvara]

The Siddhā then praises Ambā calling her as the supreme wealth of her Lord, Īśvara in visible creations. This awareness resulting in the pure knowledge and action leads the seeker to the highest or a perfect state qualified by non-attachment.[1]

Kālī the Supreme Wealth of Īśvara is the cause of creation

The fruits of the Jñāna and Karma,viz., the knowledge of the Absolute that exist in all the three divisions of time as well as the unlimited wealth[2], are due to the power potential emerging as Kālī.

She accompanies Īśvara for effecting the five karmas viz. the:

  1. Sṛṣṭi,
  2. Sthiti,
  3. Saṃhāra,
  4. Nigraha and
  5. Anugraha.

Without the emergence of kālī, the kinetic aspect, the outward expression in the form of the universe is not viable. Thus it is the co-existence of these two aspects which results in the completion of creation. This kālī guides the seeker to the highest and perfect inseparable state of attaining the pure knowledge and action. This is the path of retreading to Śiva state by an aspirant.
