The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.10.135, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 135 of Antya-khanda chapter 10—“The Glories of Shri Pundarika Vidyanidhi”.

আমারে করিযা ব্রহ্ম, সেবক নিন্দিযা মাণ্ডুযা-কাপড-স্থানে দোষ-দৃষ্টি দিযা” ॥ ১৩৫ ॥
आमारे करिया ब्रह्म, सेवक निन्दिया माण्डुया-कापड-स्थाने दोष-दृष्टि दिया” ॥ १३५ ॥
āmāre kariyā brahma, sevaka nindiyā māṇḍuyā-kāpaḍa-sthāne doṣa-dṛṣṭi diyā” || 135 ||
amare kariya brahma, sevaka nindiya manduya-kapada-sthane dosa-drsti diya” (135)
English translation:
(135) “You accept Me as the Supreme Brahman, but you offend My servants by finding fault in their dressing Me with starched cloth.”
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
What was his offense? In answer to this, Jagannātha said that he had committed the offense of criticizing His servants for dressing Him in starched cloth. If Vidyānidhi wished to protect his religious principles and caste, he should leave Śrī-kṣetra and return to his own residence.
These activities appear faulty only from the external point of view.
