The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.7.43, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 43 of Antya-khanda chapter 7—“Pastimes in Shri Gadadhara’s Garden”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.7.43:

‘স্বতন্ত্র’ করিযা বেদে যে কৃষ্ণেরে কয হেন কৃষ্ণ পার তুমি করিতে বিক্রয ॥ ৪৩ ॥

‘स्वतन्त्र’ करिया वेदे ये कृष्णेरे कय हेन कृष्ण पार तुमि करिते विक्रय ॥ ४३ ॥

‘svatantra’ kariyā vede ye kṛṣṇere kaya hena kṛṣṇa pāra tumi karite vikraya || 43 ||

‘svatantra’ kariya vede ye krsnere kaya hena krsna para tumi karite vikraya (43)

English translation:

(43) “You are able to sell Kṛṣṇa, who is proclaimed as fully independent in the Vedas.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The Supreme Lord is not dependent on anyone, but Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu has taken control of Him by serving Kṛṣṇa. Śrī Kṛṣṇa is certainly the property of Śrī Nityānanda.
