The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.5.584, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 584 of Antya-khanda chapter 5—“The Pastimes of Nityananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.5.584:

আর কেহ বলে,—“তুমি অবুধ যে ভাই! যে খায যে পরে সে বা কে-মত গোসাঞি” ॥ ৫৮৪ ॥

आर केह बले,—“तुमि अबुध ये भाइ! ये खाय ये परे से वा के-मत गोसाञि” ॥ ५८४ ॥

āra keha bale,—“tumi abudha ye bhāi! ye khāya ye pare se vā ke-mata gosāñi” || 584 ||

ara keha bale,—“tumi abudha ye bhai! ye khaya ye pare se va ke-mata gosani” (584)

English translation:

(584) Someone else said, “O brother, you are a fool! How can one who eats and dresses like Him be called a Gosāñi?”

How can one who feasts and decorates himself with cloth and ornaments be called a self-controlled person?
