The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.5.246, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 246 of Antya-khanda chapter 5—“The Pastimes of Nityananda”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.5.246:

লোক-বাক্যে ফিরিয যাযেন যথা পথ পুনঃ পথ ছাডিযা যাযেন সেই মত ॥ ২৪৬ ॥

लोक-वाक्ये फिरिय यायेन यथा पथ पुनः पथ छाडिया यायेन सेइ मत ॥ २४६ ॥

loka-vākye phiriya yāyena yathā patha punaḥ patha chāḍiyā yāyena sei mata || 246 ||

loka-vakye phiriya yayena yatha patha punah patha chadiya yayena sei mata (246)

English translation:

(246) After hearing their words, they would return to the right path, but they would then go in the wrong direction as before.
