The Chaitanya Bhagavata 3.4.418, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 418 of Antya-khanda chapter 4—“Descriptions of Shri Acyutananda’s Pastimes and the Worship of Shri Madhavendra”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 3.4.418-419:

কারে বা `বৈষ্ণব’ বলি, কিবা সঙ্কীর্তন কেনে বা কৃষ্ণের নৃত্য, কেনে বা ক্রন্দন বিষ্ণু-মাযা-বশে লোক কিছুই না জানে সকল জগত্ বদ্ধ মহা-তমো-গুণে ॥ ৪১৮-৪১৯ ॥

कारे वा `वैष्णव’ बलि, किबा सङ्कीर्तन केने वा कृष्णेर नृत्य, केने वा क्रन्दन विष्णु-माया-वशे लोक किछुइ ना जाने सकल जगत् बद्ध महा-तमो-गुणे ॥ ४१८-४१९ ॥

kāre vā `vaiṣṇava’ bali, kibā saṅkīrtana kene vā kṛṣṇera nṛtya, kene vā krandana viṣṇu-māyā-vaśe loka kichui nā jāne sakala jagat baddha mahā-tamo-guṇe || 418-419 ||

kare va `vaisnava’ bali, kiba sankirtana kene va krsnera nrtya, kene va krandana visnu-maya-vase loka kichui na jane sakala jagat baddha maha-tamo-gune (418-419)

English translation:

(418-419) By the influence of Viṣṇu’s illusory energy, people did not know who was a Vaiṣṇava, what was saṅkīrtana, or what was dancing and crying for Kṛṣṇa. The entire world was entangled in the mode of ignorance.
